Application Process

Our wood restoration process begins by protecting your primary investment, your home.  In most cases, we mask off siding, doors, and windows to protect your home from the cleaners and overspray during the power washing process.  In addition, area greenery is protected, as needed, to prevent damage from our cleaners.

Professional wood restoration is accomplished through the proper selection and use of cleaning agents that will minimize damage to the wood surfaces.  If your deck is simply weathered, without old stain protection, milder cleaners will be used to eliminate the need for harsh chemical stripping agents.

If aggressive stripping agents are required to remove old stain, then the cleaned surface will be neutralized and brightened to return the wood to its natural color and pH balance.  After repeated rinsing of the wood with low-pressure spray, if specified on the order, our 25-year sealant is applied while the wood is still wet, allowing it to be drawn deep inside the wood for extraordinary internal moisture protection.

At this point, the cleaning process is complete and the wood is allowed to dry before applying the stain.  If our sealant is not specified on the order, stain will be applied within 3-5 days (allowing time for the wood to thoroughly dry, depending on weather conditions).  If we did apply our sealant, we return within 10-14 days to apply the stain color of your choice.  Click on the following link to review our staining color palette.
